VA disabled veteran family of 4

My name is Joshua Nathan Phillips , my wife Bonnie Phillips, my daughter Freya and son Lukha and I are asking for help as we are destitute at present. I am a combat disabled veteran who recently received our VA rating and where waiting on compensation when we lost our home due to my inability to function and the extreme wait times to be seen and treated by the VA. I have been under private mental health treatment since 2018 which our family has paid for out of pocket. On the 23 of January we received notification our retroactive payment had been deposited, because we don't have a legitimate bank account due to the last years struggle and my inability to work we are homeless and Green Dot Bank also known as Walmart money card, stopped our check from the federal government due to security reasons. After days of attempting to identify our selves so we can secure housing we have sought refuge at the salvation army. We only need enough money to secure housing and clear our financial roadblocks to begin receiving monthly compensation and carry on with life. I am not complaining about what the salvation army has provided as it has been very comforting just to have a meal and a bed, however I am in a constant state of heightened awareness as my wife and children are exposed to violence and drug use on a daily basis here at the shelter as there are so many uncared for on our society. We have met the kindest people here unlike the work environments I have been exposed to in the last 20 years. Everyone tries to make sure everyone's okay even when folks are erratic and under the influence, opening doors, please and thank you, have you ate? Are you ok? If you don't help us please consider some real help at a local shelter. These folk need real things to make it through the day, most here have a mental handicap and have been abused. I know because I see the bruises marks scars and averted gazes of terribly wounded people. I see the pregnant mother with burn marks sitting in the cafeteria all day because she's not allowed to rest in her bed. Or my children who have to be locked in a room while we go to secure food downstairs because the little man is sleeping or it's too cold to walk back to the van while we retrieve all our belongings. Simple movement that must be thought out and timed ahead or risk multitude dangers. I am a Marine I can live like this I was trained for this. My wife my 8 year old daughter and my 2.5 year old son are not and they are living like hardened war refugees just like I witnessed it Al Fallujah. I wake up crying for humanity for the second time in my life. From the city park: weather inclement. Shelter and food secured for the evening. Mental status: poor.
