Santa’s Slog 2023
Donation protected
Our Champion, Bill Hodgson has completed a ‘Santa’s Slog’ every year for the last 3 years with the logistical assistance and charity fundraising awareness from Pete Marquis, Chris Worden, Andy Johnston to name but a few.
The total raised for local charities during the last 3 years is in excess of £150,000.00! The ‘Santa’s Slog’ event features a huge sleigh with Santa being pulled by our Champion Bill for a duration of miles and days. Each year we have made the event more of a challenge and the ‘Santa’s Slog’ 2023 is no exception!
This year will see the 4th ‘Santa’s Slog’ support team and its helping sponsors, follow Bill Hodgson from the start point in Loanhead Edinburgh during the early hours of Tuesday morning 5th December. It will be with hotel stops averaging every 40 miles a day that we will arrive at Euston Hotel Fleetwood on Friday 8th December. This final resting point will be greeted in the morning with the full support team including the Rola Cola Truck and our elves on collection.
The final part of the ‘Santa’s Slog’ 2023 will see the whole brigade walk through St Michaels, Windy Harbour, Thornton, Fleetwood, Cleveleys, Blackpool Queens Promenade, South Shore, St Annes, Lytham St Annes, Wrea Green, towards Frecklton and arriving in Kirkham town centre between 7pm and 9pm*.
*To ensure we hit our arrival estimate, the final route may alter slightly.
Our local charities so far will include, Cash For Kids, Donna’s Dream House, Space Centre, Streetwise Youth Centre Warton, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital and a National Veterans charity which is also to be announced.
The event at the finishing point in Kirkham will start around 6pm with a stage, singers, DJ and stalls which will be at The Swan and will be perfect for the whole family. Once we arrive, a short break will be taken and Bill will be doing a meet and greet, Santa will be also doing the same and the finale will be the lighting of the Kirkham Christmas Memorial Tree. The tree is for those who have lost a loved one and are encouraged to hang a hand written bauble on the tree with a message of their choosing.
We look forward to your generous and ongoing support ❤️
