YouthConnect
Hi, my name is Pamela Kaze, I am
fundraising for a Rwandan Youth group of
age between
16-35 in my community of Reading (UK)to visit Rwanda as part of tackling identity crisis in Ethnic minorities diaspora youth in the country. The aim is for the Youth to reconnect with where they come from by Touring, learning the culture and networking. I started YouthConnect during Covid-19 lockdown to keep youth in my community connected during difficult social times. We covered many topics such as, history, racism, culture, life debates and fun games. During Black LivesMatter Movement it came to light that, because of growing up outside their race, African diaspora youth lack identity confidence due to lack of exposer and understanding of their African culture and this trip will cover exactly that. The future goal for YouthConnect is to grow beyond Rwandan community into Africa YouthConnect by extending their networks to other African countries.
