Support Our Mission Trip to India

For the past two years through my highschool I had the incredible opportunity to go to India. As soon as I left last year I knew I needed to go back. So this year I am leading a mission trip with Kate Niebergall back to India and I couldn’t be more excited and grateful. Our team is made up of college kids from around the nation coming together to go serve in the city of Kolkata and a small village called Partapur for 2 and a half weeks during June partnering with Momentum Global. We will spend part of our time in the Kolkata slums working with Momentum Global Ministries and serving the kids and families of the Dalit people. They have built a successful elementary school and minister to the teens in Kolkata through the Momentum Global Soccer Club and Asha Girl Program. The Asha Girls program works to keep young Indian women in the school system and discourages their families from marrying them off at a young age. We will spend some time visiting their families and working in the slum areas, putting on a Vacation Bible School for about 300 slum children. We also will have the incredible opportunity to serve the disabled in two Mother Teresa homes based in Kolkata. Additionally, we are going to participate in a medical camp to further serve the people in Kolkata as well as cleaning up the trash in the slums.

Our team is very excited for this amazing opportunity. These experiences will be difficult because of the extreme differences in culture and climate, but our team is ready to push ourselves and be comfortable in the uncomfortable. We will experience the chaos that is millions of people in one city. We will have the opportunity in Kolkata to walk through the markets, see the Ganges river, and dress in native clothing. In Partapur, we will help teach lessons to school kids and participate in a village church service. In each place we hope to bring the love of the Lord.

On this trip we will gain understanding of how poverty, religious oppression, and the caste system affects the poorest of the poor. I am hopeful that you will partner with us through your prayers for effectiveness, protection, and transformation in our lives. If you feel led, we need financial support. We are working to raise $5,500 to cover the expense of airfare, food, lodging, and to give to the local needs where we will serve. In addition, checks are welcome.
