Update from Kendra:

Emersyn will be undergoing fetoscopic surgery for spina bifida repair next Tuesday, December 1st! The surgery team is absolutely phenomenal and we are happy to entrust our baby girl into their hands. They seem hopeful as Emersyn still has movement and it doesn’t seem there has been much irreversible brain damage so she can benefit greatly from this surgery!

We knew I would be on bed rest, but did not realize Emersyn needed to be within an hour of the NICU for the seven weeks after surgery and then four weeks before delivery so that means only a few weeks at home. I will have to relocate to Minneapolis immediately following my release from the hospital which makes seeing our kiddos extremely hard especially with COVID restrictions! We keep reminding ourself and explaining to our kiddos that a couple months of stress and inconvenience is worth a lifetime of independence for Emersyn! However, it is extremely hard for a three and five year old to wrap their heads around that when everything feels like forever to them!

We have been beyond blessed by family that will be going above and beyond and helping take care of Jackson and Addi during the week to provide a bit of normalcy for them. Extremely blessed by Hunter who will be bringing the kiddos each weekend to come hangout with mom and sister Emersyn!

We are so thankful for all your prayers and support and can truly feel all your love! God has been so good by providing this opportunity for our little girl and we will continue to trust her into His hands through this journey!
