Helping Hands to Greece

We are a group of high school girls trying to make a change in the world. We are a part of Raindrop Women’s Association for Youth, or RAWA Youth, where we advocate for immigrant and refugee rights and assist those in need of help. Our goal is to reach out to as many individuals as possible and provide resources, comfort and support during difficult times and situations. We aim to aid them towards better, healthier integration and make it easier for them to adapt to their new environments. We are ready to do what it takes to help these people as they reestablish their lives, and hope to be examples for others who wish to help similarly.

The crisis in Turkey has stripped thousands of families of their jobs, homes, and bare minimum resources. Mothers, fathers, and children are separated from each other as they escape to Greece as refugees. Many have no one they can turn to and struggle with having basic needs met, let alone tending to the psychological and emotional turmoil they face. In order to provide some relief, RAWA Youth is planning to travel to Greece this spring break. We plan to meet these individuals in person, listen to their stories, make them feel heard, and serve as a beacon of hope for them. We will bring along with us clothing, food, and other necessities, along with monetary donations that we collect. With the help of our communities at large, we know that relief is possible. We at RAWA Youth humbly ask for your donations which will be sent directly to those in need in Greece.
