Médecins Sans Frontières, known in some English-speaking settings as Doctors Without Borders, is a charity that provides humanitarian medical care. It is a non-governmental organisation of French origin known for its projects in conflict zones and in countries affected by endemic diseases. The organisation provides care for diabetes, drug-resistant infections, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, tropical and neglected diseases, tuberculosis, vaccines and COVID-19. (Wikipedia)

As an independent organisation, they deliver care based only on need, regardless of ethnic origin, gender, religion or political affiliation.

"We provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. Our teams are made up of tens of thousands of health professionals, logistic and administrative staff - most of them hired locally. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence and neutrality.

We are a non-profit organisation and 80% of our financial resources are allocated to fulfilling our social mission: 64% to our humanitarian programmes, 13% to support our projects and programmes, and 3% to awareness-raising, the Access Campaign, and the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi). The rest is spent on general management and fundraising costs. We also maintain reserves that allow us to respond immediately to a crisis without having to wait for a fundraising appeal.
