I’m creating this fundraiser because my mom is about to lose everything, and I’m trying to prevent her from ending up in a homeless shelter.

Over the past year, a series of things happened that were completely out of her control. She was driving without insurance because she genuinely couldn’t afford it, but she still had to get to work. As a result, she now owes money to the DMV and doesn’t have a reliable, legal car. Not long after, she lost her job because she had to miss work to take care of my brother and because of that, lost her job. My brother was experiencing a severe psychosis episode. My brother has autism, a learning disability, and is mentally disabled, and he needed constant medical care and supervision during that time.

Because she lost her income, my mom fell behind on rent and lost her apartment. Since then, she has been staying in a small trailer with no heat. That situation is ending on January 1st, and she is being forced to leave. Until now, rent there was being paid using my brother’s disability checks, but I am moving him in with me so he can be safe and stable. That means my mom will be completely on her own starting January 1st, with no housing and no working car.

If I can’t help her get her car fixed and her DMV fees taken care of, she won’t be able to work, find housing, or even get to basic necessities. Without help, her only option will be a homeless shelter.

My mom has always worked hard and put her kids first. She didn’t make reckless choices, she made impossible ones while trying to survive and take care of her disabled child. I’m doing everything I can, but I can’t do this alone.

Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward fixing her car, resolving DMV fees, and helping her stabilize enough to get back on her feet. If you can’t donate, sharing this means just as much.
