We are reaching out for your support to help restore a Community Garden situated in Montrose Street, in memory of the late David Ervine MLA, a space that has sadly been left to ruin but deserves to once again shine as a place of reflection, community, and remembrance.
David was more than a political representative, he was a peacemaker, a bridge builder, and a voice for the ordinary people.
As leader of the Progressive Unionist Party and MLA for East Belfast, he worked tirelessly to give his community hope and to move Northern Ireland towards peace and reconciliation. Known for his honesty, warmth, and ability to reach across divides, David earned the respect of many from all backgrounds.
The renewal of this memorial garden is being carried out by Ulster Tower Street Community Development Association, alongside David’s Friends and community representatives, with the blessing of David’s own family. Together, we want to create a Community Space that truly reflects David’s life, welcoming, inclusive, and rooted within his community.
Your contribution will help us transform this garden back into a Garden of Reflection where people can come together to remember David, reflect on his life and legacy, and find inspiration in his commitment to peace and progress.
Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us closer to ensuring that David’s memory continues to live on in the heart of the community he served so faithfully.
