Family and Friends,
Trekking for the Troops is an annual philanthropy our fraternity has done since 2012 to bring awareness to the struggles that many post-combat troops face returning to civilian life. We are excited to bring this tradition back after a 2-year long hiatus due to wildfires. Our summer philanthropy event seeks to shed light on PTSD among military veterans. To show solidarity for the physical duress that soldiers endure and symbolize the long, arduous journey of returning home, this September, my fellow Sigma Nu brothers and I will be backpacking 100 miles of the John Muir Trail from Bishop to the summit of Mt. Whitney.
This year we will be donating all of the proceeds from our fundraising to the VA Northern California Health Care System. All of the donation funds will go to the Post Deployment Assessment Treatment (PDAT) program located in Martinez, California. This program provides comprehensive services in medical and psychological care, and neurocognitive rehabilitation to veterans with a history of polytrauma .
Thank you for your time and generosity!
