UzAid- Help Intellectually Disabled Children

Donation protected
Hello, we are UzAid, and we are dedicated to supporting children who are in need of aid. We are a group of teenagers born and bred in the UK, but our families are from Uzbekistan. Through our families, we have developed a strong connection to our heritage and understand the differences in levels of development between the two countries. We are passionate about making a difference and are committed to contributing to positive change by running charity campaigns and raising awareness through events, schools, and social media.

Our mission is to enhance the quality of education and care in specialised schools. Your donation will help us support these schools with much-needed resources, including access to essential medications and therapies, thereby improving the lives of the children they serve.

In addition to your donation, you have the option to purchase arts and crafts made by special needs children from our Etsy shop: https://uzaidshop.etsy.com

Last but not least, we invite you to join us at the Uzbek Culture and Food Festival on June 8-9, where we will be hosting a stall featuring handmade arts and crafts created by these talented children. All proceeds from the sales will be reinvested into buying new materials for more arts and crafts projects, encouraging their abilities and creating more opportunities for the children. Please come and support us!

Our experience in fundraising is exemplified by our previous campaign, 'Kids Helping Hands,' which supported children with cancer in Uzbekistan. As we continue to grow, our passion for making a difference through fundraising remains stronger than ever.

A short video of our past experience can be found at the following link:
Thank you for your support!

P.S. For this campaign, we have partnered with two schools that educate children with special needs who have intellectual and physical disabilities, including those with Autism and Down syndrome. All donations will be split equally, and money raised from sales of arts and crafts will be distributed according to their respective sources.

Dear All,

We are UzAid and would like to reach out again, to remind you we are a dedicated group of Uzbek teenagers committed to raising funds for children with intellectual disabilities in Uzbekistan. Our initiative involves selling handmade goods created by these children, with all proceeds donated back to them.

Our fundraising activities have included managing an Etsy shop, maintaining an Instagram presence, and hosting a GoFundMe campaign. Additionally, we operated a stall at the Uzbek Culture and Food Festival on June 8-9.

Firstly, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported our cause, whether through donations on GoFundMe, visiting us at the festival, or following us on Instagram.

We are proud to announce that so far we have raised a total of £2,332, with £899 generated from item sales and £1,489.50 from donations.

Our efforts have benefited two schools for children with intellectual disabilities. The proceeds from item sales have been allocated to the respective schools where the items originated, while donations have been evenly distributed. As a result, the first school is receiving £1,130.75 and the second school is getting £1,201.25. All money will go to support children with special needs to encourage their arts and crafts work and well-being.

We have personally covered the GoFundMe transaction fees and any other extraneous costs to ensure that all raised funds directly benefit the children.

Thank you for your generosity and support. Donations were extremely generous and we would like to say big THANK YOU for every pound donated, and it also meant a lot to us to see that our initiatives were supported. We greatly appreciate every single person who supported our call by buying products, and the craftsmen behind each item would like to say a big THANK YOU too.

And lastly, we ask that if you bought any of the items from UzAid, if you could please please take a photo of your item in use or on display, and share it on Instagram, tagging us at https://www.instagram.com/uzaid_fest/

Alternatively, we would appreciate it if you could send a photo to us, so that we can show it to our artists. This is the big ask coming from the children who are behind each item, and they would love to see their products in use.

Just to remind everyone, our campaign is ongoing, and some items remain available for purchase through our Etsy shop: https://uzaidshop.etsy.com
