Haddonfield Lacrosse 5k Legacy Run for Charity

Donation protected
Brian McDonnell had a passion for Haddonfield Lacrosse. He loved watching his son John, now a varsity alumnus, play. He loved coaching youth lacrosse, and odds are you could often find him in the stands cheering on any Haddonfield team. He was a husband and father of three, a friend to many, a founder of Haddonfield Youth Lacrosse and a respected member of the Haddonfield Community.

Haddonfield Memorial High School Boys Lacrosse has a goal to carry on his legacy by establishing an annual scholarship that recognizes one Senior boy lacrosse player and one Senior girl lacrosse player who exhibit Brian’s character and passion for the game.

The Legacy Run, first organized two years ago after his passing in 2021, will be the event that helps us to establish a permanent trust to ensure Brian's legacy will continue for years. With this trust, two Senior lacrosse players can be recognized every year for their outstanding contributions to the Haddonfield community both on and off the field.

On November 23rd the Haddonfield Lacrosse Community was given the news of the passing of our beloved goalie and JV lacrosse coach, Andrew Husenica. Youth players, high school players, alumni, and the entire Haddonfield lacrosse community was heartbroken to hear this news. In honor of Coach Husenica, we will also be donating to research on Childhood Diabetes. Coach Husenica always had an interest in helping out in any way possible with regards to this charity.

The Legacy Run will take place this year on Sunday, June 11th at 8:00 am. A 5K race and 1-mile fun walk are the center of the event. T-shirts will be available for purchase.

Individual Donations can be made here or in the form of a check to Haddonfield Lacrosse Boosters.

Disclaimer: no raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or returns on investments are offered.

My name is Ryan Ward and I was put in charge by my lacrosse coaches for making this gofundme as well as transferring funds. My mother Meg Ward was put in charge of being the beneficiary so that she could receive the funds into her bank account and easily transfer the funds to the HMHS Lacrosse booster club. The money in this gofundme will be spent on donating to Childhood Diabetes, Brain Cancer Research, as well as two $1000 scholarships given to lacrosse players on both the boys and girls lacrosse teams at Haddonfield Memorial High School. We have been trying to get the funds out of this gofundme for months now and have been compliant with what the gofundme team has asked.
