We combined households and moved into our current house this past October (2024). We've been long time renters with PMG Rentals (this is my and Cody's third property with them), and with a new household of 6 we needed something more spacious to raise 3 kids. Prior to moving in, we brought attention to several issues with the property, and was told by PMG that things would be corrected prior to us moving in. When we moved, the issues were still there and so began a long process of repeated work orders, check ins, and requests for updates. Since moving in we've gone 10 days without a working refrigerator, had numerous live outlets with no covers take weeks to be fixed, and waited a week or more for a washer repair due to a balance issue.
The most significant issue has now come to a head. In early February, while Cody was IN the shower in the master bedroom, the floor gave way. When we moved in, we notified PMG of what appeared to be a crack in the floor but nothing was ever done about it. Its been 2 months of waiting and having to reach out to PMG for updates to be told several times that they can't find a vendor, or the vendor they found can't do the work. PMG has now given us 60 days to vacate the property. The vendor who agreed to do the work has now said that the damage to the subfloor of the property is extensive. They are not sure of the full extent of the damage but it cannot be repaired while the property is occupied. The landlord has stated he will still need to approve a deposit return (which happens AFTER we've left the property) despite the fact that the issues with the property are not caused by us and have been well documented for the 6 months we've lived there. PMG is telling us that they can help us find a property to rent, but at the end of the day, we need help with simply being able to afford to move. Legally our options are limited as our lease states that the landlord has to provide a 60 day notice if the property has to be vacated, and that vacate notice can be for any reason. And so until we can find a place we are stuck in a property with questionable floors, 3 kids, and tight finances.
We love every single one of you and so appreciate anything you can do to help.
