One of our own is in need, my friends! In the 80's there was a special family connection in the Sera Mesa/Mission Village area of San Diego. Most of us grew up together, and spent countless nights at our local parties and events together. I was lucky enough to be in a band called Insex, and will never forget all the faces I saw on a weekly basis at one place or another. We were like family, and I wouldn't trade those days for anything. But now one of my closest friends, and yours; Fred Helander is having a very hard time. Fred and his lovely wife Michele, had a small business prior to the pandemic, and Fred worked for a non-profit for most of his adult life. During the pandemic Fred's non-profit lost their funding and Fred very suddenly lost his job. At the same time, their business that they had built from scratch, was forced to close. Fred and Michele, in effect, lost everything. Including their home of over 20 years. They need our help! They are trying to get out of CA, and start over in Denver. Can you imagine at this age to have to start over from scratch? He was and is our friend, and our family. Please try to put yourself in his place, and see it in your heart to do all we can to help and old friend. I know he would be there for you. Please show that old neighborhood spirit, if you are able; PLEASE give. Thanks!
