Hey Everyone!

A moment near the fireplace as a toddler, turned into a lifelong journey after I sustained a severe burn injury that left my hand badly damaged. The burns caused my fingers to contract into a claw-like position, making it painful and difficult to use my hand.

Growing up meant living through multiple skin graft surgeries, endless physiotherapy, and splinting treatments to release the tension and help me move and stretch my hand again. It wasn’t easy, there were moments of frustration, fear and pain, but there was also faith, hope, and love. I thank God every day for the strength to keep going and for the incredible care I received from the nurses, doctors, and occupational therapists at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. Their compassion and skill meant that today, I have the use of my hand, and that’s something I will never stop being grateful for.

Having the ability to use my hand every day, to write, hold things, and play the piano, is the biggest blessing. For me, it was my hand. But for other children, burn injuries can be appearance-altering and life-changing, affecting not just the body but also confidence, self-esteem, and everyday life.

The Children’s Burns Trust played a huge role in my recovery. They provided not only resources and information but also a sense of community and belonging. I still remember attending a burn camp, nervous and unsure of myself, after saying no for a few years. But I left confident, informed, and connected with other children just like me!

Now, as an ambassador for the Children’s Burns Trust, I want to give back, to raise awareness about how easily these accidents can happen, to help prevent them, and to support other children and families going through what I once did.

Why I’m Fundraising:

I’m raising money to support the incredible work the Children’s Burns Trust does every day. Donations directly fund:

  • Burn prevention campaigns to stop accidents before they happen

  • Support for burn survivors and their families, including direct grants and rehabilitation programs

  • Awareness efforts to improve understanding and compassion for those living with burn injuries

  • Family weekends, burn camps, and travel support for families who must journey to specialist hospitals to be with their children

These initiatives change lives, just like they changed mine.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for supporting this cause that means the world to me. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference. God Bless❤️
