Birkdale High School, an all boys comprehensive school located in Southport, is undertaking a charitable venture to support young people in the Volta region of Ghana.
We have signed up with the ‘African Adventures Foundation’, a registered charity based in the UK, to take a group of 10 Yr11 students (16year olds), 2 staff and 3 volunteers to Ghana, West Africa in July 2025.
This is to undertake unpaid volunteering work (education & construction projects) in deprived schools in Anloga township, located in Volta region, that receive no funding from the Ghanaian government.
As a school, we need to raise funds to purchase and donate valuable and much-needed resources to the schools in Ghana.
As well as fundraising events we are undertaking ourselves, we are seeking opportunities for charitable donations to us (as a charity) which will support our cause.
Please be assured that, as a school, we are a not-for-profit organisation and all the proceeds raised will be utilised directly towards this venture.
We would be most grateful for any support that you may be able to provide to us in our goal.
Thank you for taking the time to consider our request.
