There’s no easy way to write this message.

When a child is in need, everything else stops — your mind, your priorities, your heart — and you are consumed with finding a way to help, even when you feel completely helpless.

Our good friends, the Herberts, are facing the unthinkable: a serious childhood illness. As some of you may know, Charlie had a tumor on his spine that was initially believed to be benign. Tragically, that was not the case. Charlie has recently been diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of childhood cancer.

The road ahead will be long and incredibly tough — physically, emotionally, and financially. While the Herberts have been very reluctant to accept help, those of us who know and love them know how overwhelming this journey will be. Between time away from work, medical expenses, travel, and daily living costs, the challenges they face will be overwhelmingly unimaginable.

So we’re coming together to do what we can, to. support then in any way we can.

If you’ve ever met Charlie or seen him on the field, you know he’s one tough kid — determined, fierce, and full of life. He’s strong as nails, and there’s no doubt where he gets that strength from! He’s going to fight this with everything he’s got — and we’ll be right there with him, every step of the way.
