HELP UTAH STUDENT MUSICIANS PRESENT HEADLINE PERFORMANCE AT THE NATIONAL MALL DURING AMERICA'S 250TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
⭐ TOTAL RAISED TO DATE: $24,140 of $100,000 — updated 6/13
In just a few weeks, a group of extraordinary young musicians from Utah will step onto one of the most important stages in America.
On June 30, 2026, the award-winning Crescent Super Band has been invited to headline a featured evening performance on the Main Stage of the National Mall in Washington, D.C. during what is expected to be the largest Independence Day celebration in American history—the America250 Celebration commemorating of the 250th anniversary of the United States.
This is not a typical student performance.
The Crescent Super Band is one of the most decorated youth ensembles in the world, earning more than 200 national music awards—including 50+ DownBeat Awards. They have performed on prestigious stages including Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and many of the world's biggest festivals.
The band's 25+ year resume includes performances with scores of Grammy-winners including Huey Lewis, Branford Marsalis, Kenny Loggins, Victor Wooten, Esperanza Spalding, and Gordon Goodwin, as well as members of some of the biggest acts of all time including Maroon 5, The Killers, Toto, Journey, Post Malone, Dave Matthews Band, AC/DC, and many more.
Following a recent performance attended by National Endowment for the Arts Chair Mary Anne Carter, the ensemble was invited to represent Utah as part of a national America250 Celebration produced by the Eden Arts and Immersive Media Festival.
For these young musicians, this is more than a concert.
It is a chance to represent Utah on a national stage during a once-in-a-generation moment in American history.
And it is a life-changing experience that will shape their confidence, leadership, and future opportunities for years to come.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
The invitation came together with only weeks to prepare.
The Sound Support Foundation is now racing to raise the $150,000 needed to support student participation in the America250 National Landmark Series.
Your contribution helps provide:

- Educational and cultural experiences
- Production and performance expenses
- Need-based scholarships to ensure every qualified student can participate regardless of financial circumstances
In addition to the National Mall performance, the band will participate in a four-stop America250 National Landmark Series featuring performances at:
- Washington, D.C. – National Mall Main Stage
- Bryce Canyon National Park
- Mount Rushmore National Memorial
- Zion National Park
BE PART OF HISTORY
In a few short weeks, these students will represent Utah before audiences gathered from across the nation during one of the largest Independence Day celebrations in American history.
We believe they have earned this opportunity. The band has been putting in countless hours of rehearsal and practice. In fact, last week, Earth, Wind & Fire Musical Director and keyboardist, Myron McKinley spent multiple days working directly with the Crescent Super Band as they prepared for their America250 National Landmark Series performances.
Now we need your help to make sure every student can be there.
Whether your gift is $25, $250, $2,500, or more, you become part of a historic moment and an investment in the next generation of Utah leaders, artists, and ambassadors.
Thank you for helping Utah and these incredible young artists take the national stage!
