Sherry's road to recovery

Update from Yvonne:
Hi to you all... I had a nice 2 hour visit with Sherry this afternoon.

When I got there the physiotherapist was there talking to her.
He was getting information for what she will need when she heads home.
Then he asked if she was up for a walk, and off she went with a 1 arm crutch. She walked about 50 ft. 1 way and then back again to her room. He said she did really well.

They are going to give her an MRI next week sometime, no set date.
They are checking her
C spine.

The nurse came in while we talked and combed out her hair and braided it. She said it felt so good.
They are going to give her a shower as soon as possible when they get a care aid available to help her.

She is asking for prayer for a nice home care aid person for when she's home. Preferably a woman.

She was in very good spirits and happy.
It was good to see her and visit.
Thanks for praying everyone.

In the early morning hours of Monday January 8th, 2024 our mom was in a major car accident on her way to work at Walmart in Salmon Arm. As a result she has suffered 12 breaks in her back, 7 broken ribs, 2 breaks in her neck and a broke wrist. Thank God she will be alright in time and that the only thing that needs surgery is her wrist! But as a result she will be out of work for quite sometime as she recovers first in the hospital for a few weeks at least and then at home for an unforeseen amount of time. As my father in law passed 2 years ago she is the sole provider. If you can help financially or simply by sharing this we would be so so grateful ❤️

Update from Paul "Good Morning
Just got off the phone with Sherry.
She's feeling pretty sore today. She pushed herself a little too hard yesterday by sitting up in the wheelchair for too long."

January 14
Sherry was uncomfortable today so Paul was making sure she is not overlooked in any way, she was better after being readjusted in her bed

Steven and Janet went to visit again today. Sherry would like to go home next week but she needs to be able to walk around the wing on her own, climb stairs, dress herself. She couldn't sit herself up in bed this morning when she was slouching over.

Paul Had a very good conversation with the nurse this morning. Sherry is going to be transferred to the Vernon hospital within the next 2 days. It's been determined that she is no longer in trouble other than her recovery.
Sherry and Paul had a good talk today about her expectations surrounding her recovery and reality.

Sherry is being transferred to the Vernon hospital today, scheduled for between 2&5pm. She *should* have better reception for calls and texts Please go have a visit with her any time ❤️
