Usborne Books for Drogheda Women's Refuge Centre

Hi, my name is Vicky and I am an Independent Usborne Partner. As part of the Usborne Partner Community I have the resources to not only get community organisations, in this case The Drogheda Women's and Children's Refuge Centre and The Playroom Project which is the preschool attached, Usborne Books without touching their own budget but I can also top up their order by 60% of the order value in free books.

This is the third year I have run this fundraiser and choose this time of year because it is just in time for Christmas.

Many women and children will go through the centre between now and Christmas. Books are easy to store, easy to pack, can be for entertainment or a great resource to start difficult conversations.

One of the things I have been told is that sometimes children have to leave their homes quickly and unable to take any belongings with them. Being given something that is just for them can be a huge comfort in difficult circumstances. That was just extra motivation to do this fundraiser again this year.

I also understand that funds are tight with everyone these says so absolutely anything that people can spare is greatly appreciated
