Hello friends, family, and supporters,
I’m raising funds to support my travel and logistics for an upcoming Gospel tour in the United States with my international Swiss choir, the SOVA Mass Gospel Choir – watch us sing in the accompanying video.
For the past three years, Gospel music has been more than just a genre for me — it has been a spiritual anchor. Singing Gospel has become an embodied practice, deepening my understanding of myself and offering a pathway for healing and growth. It has brought me a sense of communion and purpose — at times pain and much joy. Gospel is not performative; it is both an expression and a lived experience of the Sacred that uplifts the soul.
Gospel also offers something essential: a direct, heart-led connection through voice, body, and music to our shared humanity. This feels especially vital in our current moment — as we navigate increasing conflict, deepening disconnection, growing inequity, and global uncertainty.
Across Europe and beyond, gospel choirs are rising in number and spirit. They are part of a global movement — a kind of musical call-and-response — seeking meaning, belonging, and hope. I truly believe we are being called into something greater, together.
Gospel music is rooted in the spiritual songs of enslaved African people in the United States. Passed down orally, these songs blended African musical traditions with European-American religious music, emerging as a profoundly intuitive and intelligent response to human suffering.
Today, the reach of Gospel is universal — crossing faiths, cultures, and spiritual traditions. It invites people of all backgrounds into a shared space of connection, joy, and transcendence. Wherever it is sung, Gospel weaves a sacred bond — between self, community, and spirit.
This summer, my choir has been invited to travel to Chicago — the historic home of Gospel music — as well as Colorado and Kansas, to perform and share our voices and stories. This is not just a tour; it’s a spiritual pilgrimage. We’ll be honoring the powerful roots of Gospel while offering it as a living bridge between diverse communities, generations, and nations.
As much as this opportunity means to me, I need help covering the costs of travel, accommodation, and other essential logistics. Every donation — big or small — will help make this journey possible.
If you believe in the power of music to heal, to connect, and to transform — I warmly invite you to be part of this journey with me.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and encouragement.
With deep gratitude and love,
