We Made the Deposit! now we're waiting on section 8 to complete the inspection. this can take up to a month.

We are officially HOMELESS until this inspection is approved.

My name is Allie, and I have three children. We are in a situation where we need to move again, and I'm hoping this will be our final move for a long time. Our current landlord needs us to move out so they can make repairs that the house has desperately needed for years.

We use a Section 8 voucher, which helps us find stable housing. However, Section 8 is unable to cover security deposits. At this time, I am unable to pay the $2,800 needed to secure a new home we found after a three-month search. The home is right across the street from my children's school and is large enough to accommodate our whole family.

We have until September 30, 2025, to be out of our current home. There is no extension available, as we have already used the full 90 days' notice to locate a new family home that is safe and stable enough to support three teenage boys. We have secured approval for the new house, but we now have 48 hours to pay the deposit and get the inspection done so we can move in as soon as possible. These things can take up to three weeks, so the sooner I can obtain a lease agreement, the less likely we will need to find a temporary space between houses.

I have already saved $500, and I will be getting another $200 soon, giving us a total of $700 toward our goal. That means we still need $2,100 by September 20, 2025. Every penny raised will go directly toward securing a safe and permanent home for me and my three children.
