Josie is my beloved 7-and-a-half-year-old pitbull mix and truly the light of my life. She’s the reason I wake up every day, and her sweet, silly, and stubborn personality brings so much joy to everyone she meets. Josie has already overcome so much—about two and a half years ago, she underwent major surgery to repair a CCL tear in her back leg, and together we worked hard through her recovery so she could enjoy a pain-free, happy life again. We’ve also faced the heartbreak of losing two of her fur siblings in the past year, making Josie’s presence even more precious to me.
Recently, Josie was diagnosed with immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (ITP), a serious condition that requires immediate and ongoing veterinary care. She’s currently hospitalized and needs constant monitoring, blood tests, imaging, and medications. There’s a possibility she’ll need further testing, long-term immunosuppressants, or additional days in the hospital, which will increase the costs even more. My hope is to cover her current treatment and be prepared for any long-term care she may need so she can keep fighting and get back to the life she loves and lives fully.
I’m on a fixed income and have been searching for work to help with rising expenses, but this situation is overwhelming. I know times are tough for everyone, and there’s absolutely no obligation to help financially. If you’re able to donate, it means the world to us, but even sharing Josie’s story, keeping her in your prayers, or sending positive thoughts is deeply appreciated. Thank you for supporting Josie and helping us through one of the hardest times we’ve faced together.
