Adoption: Final Steps for the Napiers

We're the Napiers!

This is our second adoption. And those who want to hear our story of how we got to this point, I have that for you below.
But for those who just want the quick update: We have been in a long adoption process to get to our second daughter. I can best describe it as a holding pattern. Leading us to such a time as this. Her name is Eliza Lake! She is a radiant little one-and-a-half year old in India! Yesterday we got word that we are required to be in person for the court hearing--so our travel is happening Christmas Day!!
This is sooner than we planned and tickets and travel are more than we were anticipating along with the surprise that we will need to holdup in country for 20+ days waiting for paperwork. So that's what makes this need urgent! We would be incredibly grateful for your prayers and possible support!!!

Now for those who want more details here are some behind the scenes:

Welcome to a condensed version of our adoption story! Even as I type this out, it almost makes me laugh when a simple sentence sums up years and tears!
Jeremiah and I always knew we were going to adopt. We even talked about it in college when we were dating. Then once we were married, we came back to the topic of adoption a little broken. We had experienced a several years of infertility, and realized that God wasn’t leading us to have biological children, He was calling us to find them out in the world. In 2017-2019 we went through Lifeline Children’s Services and found our beloved daughter Hallelujah Joy! She’s a burst of joy, and we feel honored to get to be her parents. But something Hallee has always said is that she has a sister. Unprompted, she began praying for her little sister every single prayer (every prayer for the meal, every random prayer throughout the day, and every bedtime prayer!) “Lord, please help my sister, and help bring her home.” There was no doubt in our minds that we needed to adopt again! In 2020 we started a process in China, but that opportunity closed on us, and our caseworker asked us to pray about switching programs. We were not quite sure where to go. We were open to India again, but we felt lead to Colombia. I can only describe it as a holding pattern. It wasn’t where we were meant to be ultimately. We were so eager, but our little girl wasn’t ready yet. We had some pauses, and we moved, and when God opened the door again, we changed back to the India program, and went through all the updates necessary. Finally, it was time. It isn’t random, God leads your specific child to you. It’s one of the most powerful things we’ve experienced. When the Lifeline matching team presented us with our baby girl’s file, Jeremiah knew almost instantly. I was a little more thorough in looking over all the information and praying through it carefully. It was almost like standing on the edge of it, and once I tipped over I was all in! She’s my daughter, and I love her with every fiber of my being. After saying yes in our hearts, and celebrating as a little family of three—now made four; within minutes, we got a text message from a cardiologist surgeon saying that her heart issues were much more severe than we initially thought, and we need to hurry or she could experience heart failure! I cannot put into words what it feels like to realize you are a mama to a baby girl across the world, and she is in desperate need, but you can’t hold her or get to her, or help her yet! It’s torture. But God is faithful. For such a time as this, He alined our family with this precious little life. We are very tight financially, and the speed at which we need to move on things is challenging, but we believe that God will provide!

Thank you for your part in our family's adoption journey!
