Please Help Us Save Our Home from a Silent Destroyer
Three years ago, we became homeowners for the very first time. We were excited, nervous, and full of hope. We did everything we could to make sure our new home was safe and sound — including asking the seller to treat and tent the house for termites before we moved in. He looked us in the eye and told us it had been done.
We trusted him.
A year later, we started seeing signs that something was wrong. And that’s when we found out the painful truth: he had lied. There had never been a termite treatment. By then, we had already been living in the home for a year, and the damage was quietly underway.
We immediately spent $2,500 on professional spot treatments and bait stations. It was a huge financial burden, but we hoped it would be enough to stop things from getting worse.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t.
Recently, we’ve noticed more signs: discarded termite wings, soft or sagging areas in the ceiling, and growing weak spots in parts of the house. The scariest part? We don’t know how long the infestation has been going on — but experts estimate it could be up to five years or more. That means the problem likely started long before we ever moved in.
We’ve done everything we can to stay ahead of the damage, but with piling bills and our mortgage increasing, a full fumigation and structural termite treatment just isn’t something we can afford right now. It’s heartbreaking to watch something we’ve worked so hard for slowly fall apart, and feel powerless to stop it.
That’s why we’re reaching out — with humility and hope — and asking for help.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount would mean the world to us. Every dollar will go directly toward the termite treatment that can save our home. And if you’re unable to give, simply sharing this page would be a huge help too.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Thank you for your kindness, your compassion, and your support.
