Marco and Magaly arrived in the U.S. in 2021, full of hope and determination to build a better life for their family. From the moment they arrived, they’ve worked tirelessly, taking on every opportunity to provide for their children and create a future.

Marco is a caring and loving father, and has always been known for his strong work ethic and kindness. For his children's sake, he worked in retail and in warehouses, doing whatever it took to make ends meet. Sadly, earlier this year, he suffered a serious back injury that made it impossible for him to continue working.

Magaly, his wife, also worked to help support the family. She stopped working in December after giving birth to their new baby, and has since been home caring for their two children as Marco recovered.

On the morning of October 23, Marco left his house to take their child to school and never returned home.

When Magaly called his cell phone, he responded and informed her that he had been detained immediately after dropping their son off at school and was in ICE custody. This Twin Rivers mother has an infant and a young elementary-aged child. Her husband was the sole breadwinner and has been forced to leave behind a family struggling to cover rent and groceries.

We ask our supportive community to contribute any amount to help this family with basic necessities such as rent, utilities, and groceries.

Marco y Magaly llegaron a Estados Unidos en 2021, llenos de esperanza y con la firme determinación de construir una vida mejor para su familia. Desde su llegada, trabajaron incansablemente, aprovechando cada oportunidad para mantener a sus hijos y forjar un futuro.

Marco es un padre cariñoso y atento, conocido siempre por su gran ética de trabajo y su bondad. Por el bien de sus hijos, trabajó en tiendas y almacenes, haciendo lo que fuera necesario para llegar a fin de mes. Lamentablemente, a principios de este año, sufrió una grave lesión de espalda que le impidió seguir trabajando.

Magaly, su esposa, también trabajaba para ayudar a mantener a la familia. Dejó de trabajar en diciembre tras dar a luz a su bebé y, desde entonces, se ha dedicado al cuidado de sus dos hijos mientras Marco se recuperaba.

La mañana del 23 de octubre, Marco salió de casa para llevar a su hijo al colegio y no regresó.

Cuando Magaly lo llamó a su celular, él respondió y le informó que lo habían detenido inmediatamente después de dejar a su hijo en la escuela y que estaba bajo custodia del ICE. Esta madre de Twin Rivers tiene un bebé y un niño pequeño en edad escolar primaria. Su esposo era el único sostén de la familia y se ha visto obligado a abandonar a una familia que lucha por pagar el alquiler y la comida.
