If you do still want to support the campaign, you can make a donation on our website: https://marianstaction.com.au/donate/ Next up - getting to 20,000 signatures on the petition, so Marian St must be debated in NSW parliament.

Emergency Fundraiser
This is the most important week in Marian St Theatre's history.
Marian St Theatre has inspired generations of local families for more than 100 years.
After 13 years of closure, Marian St Theatre is closer than ever to being lost.
On 16 June, after years of promises and just before the plans were due to expire, Ku-ring-gai Council voted to allow the approved architectural plans for Marian St Theatre to expire.
Those plans disappear unless we raise $100,000 to preserve them. The funding is needed for urgent works to preserve the planning approval, and vital to convince Councillors to vote in favour of Marian St.
If the plans are lost:
• 13 years of community campaigning will be undone.
• $1.7 million of public investment in planning and design will be wasted.
• Marian St Theatre is likely to never be reopened.
Preserving the plans keeps alive the only realistic opportunity to reopen Marian St Theatre within the next 3-5 years. Starting again would require a completely new planning process, adding over a decade more of delay, if it ever reopens. No alternative performing arts venue is planned for the area.
If Council declines to preserve the plans, every donation will be refunded.
Please help us raise the $100,000 needed to keep Marian St Theatre alive.
Donations are tax deductible.
If Marian St Theatre has ever meant something to you - whether you performed there, watched a show, volunteered, or simply believe our community deserves a home for the arts - please donate today.
Every dollar gives Marian St another chance.
Four generations have grown up with Marian St Theatre. We don't want the next generation to grow up without it.
Pictured - Jessica Blaxland Ashby with her mother Wendy Blaxland and daughter Ida Blaxland Rogers. Audrey Blaxland founded the children’s theatre. Four generations of one family - but this campaign belongs to the whole community.
UPDATE
Council has called the Extraordinary General Meeting for next Monday at 12pm! So we have changed the deadline from Thursday until Sunday. But we still need to raise the funds to preserve the architectural plans. We still need Councillors to vote in favour of keeping Marian St.
