URGENT Rescue and Resettle an Afghan Family
St. John's Anglican Church is starting this fundraising campaign to help an Afghan family escape execution by the Taliban; we are working on resettling them safely to Canada.
The family’s oldest daughter Laily was a Law and Political science student with a working background in Social and community development. She served and dedicated her life to women's rights and human rights advocacy groups that sought women's empowerment, peacebuilding, and youth development. Laily’s younger sisters and brother were school students following their older sister’s footsteps to pursue education and be of service to their community.
Their dreams were shattered on August 15th, 2021, when the terrorist organization, the Taliban took over Kabul. Years of hard work, progress, achievements, and advocacy for human rights turned into life threats against them. To this day, they are traumatized by the events of August
15th, 2022.
Laily and her family of five members were forced to flee their home and country after the Taliban took over the country. They are waiting to be rescued from Pakistan, fearing deportation back to Afghanistan.
Your support and donations will save this family’s lives from the Taliban; the donations will go towards their Resettlement program here in Canada.
