Emergency Rent Relief for Minneapolis Families Impacted by ICE Raids
Rent is due in 5 days. Right now in Minneapolis, many families are facing an immediate housing crisis after recent ICE activity disrupted work, caused sudden income loss, and created widespread instability.
Workers have missed shifts, lost jobs, or are afraid to leave their homes. For households already living paycheck to paycheck, even a short interruption in wages can mean falling behind on rent and facing eviction.
Most families in the Twin Cities pay roughly $1,700 to $2,000 per month for a modest two-bedroom apartment. Missing even one week of income can make rent impossible to cover.
This fundraiser is being organized by Lucy Berman (@combatcrap), Shipsco Fightwear, and Combat Candy to provide urgent mutual aid specifically for emergency rent assistance.
All funds raised will go directly to KeepMNHoused, a trusted local organization that distributes support to vetted rent relief funds and partner nonprofits working on the ground. Organizers are not keeping any funds.
Housing is a basic human need. When communities face sudden disruption, mutual aid helps prevent displacement and keeps families safe and stable.
