Urgent: Aid for Fatima and Abood in Gaza

Ciao,

mi chiamo Fatima Sameer, vivo a Gaza, sono la mamma di Abood di 3 anni e aspetto un altro bambino.

Prima della guerra avevo una vita bellissima e una casa accogliente. Dopo la laurea e il lavoro, avevo appena comprato la casa ed è stata distrutta dai bombardamenti prima che potessimo finire anche solo di pagarla.

Dopo la maternità ho iniziato a fare la food blogger: amavo fotografare ricette e pubblicarle su Instagram, sognando di diventare una chef famosa nel mondo.

Purtroppo, la mia vita e i miei sogni sono stati spazzati via dalla guerra che ha messo fine alla vita bellissima che avevo.

Ho perso la casa, il lavoro e ho pianto la morte di molti amici, sono stata sfollata per sfuggire alla morte più di sette volte, fino a ritrovarmi senza tetto in una tenda che non protegge né dal freddo né dal caldo.

Le tende sono molto pericolose: non offrono alcuna protezione dal caldo, dal freddo, dalla pioggia e da altri pericoli.

Sono incinta e la situazione medica qui è disastrosa, gli ospedali pubblici non sono sicuri poiché bersaglio di bombardamenti, I pochi medici privati che si trovano hanno tariffe altissime.

Mi è stata diagnosticata la cefalea, l’anemia e la malnutrizione, condizioni molto serie durante la gravidanza.

Perdere la mia precedente campagna GoFundMe è stato un colpo durissimo, era l’unico mezzo di sostentamento per la mia famiglia.

Quando anche un’altra zona di Gaza è stata evacuata, mia madre, mio padre, le mie sorelle e mio fratello sono venuti a vivere con noi nella tenda che era già molto piccola.

Siamo in 9 e il mio GoFundMe è l’unico mezzo che abbiamo.

Da oltre tre mesi, stanno bloccando l’ingresso di cibo, acqua e aiuti umanitari fondamentali a Gaza.

Nei mercati non è rimasto quasi nulla.

I beni più essenziali – farina, riso, cibo in scatola e acqua potabile – sono quasi impossibili da trovare, e i pochi articoli rimasti vengono venduti a prezzi inimmaginabili. Un solo sacco di farina costa ora più di 1.000 dollari. Una singola bottiglia d’acqua ha un prezzo fuori dalla portata di qualsiasi famiglia.

Ogni volta che penso che siano i giorni più difficili, ne arrivano altri ancora peggiori. È la vita sotto la guerra.

Ho bisogno del vostro aiuto in questo momento estremamente difficile per acquistare i beni di prima necessità quotidiani, indispensabili per sopravvivere.

I fondi che ricevo vengono usati per:

- mangiare in 9 un solo pasto al giorno

My name is Fatima Sameer, I live in Gaza, I’m the mother of 3-year-old Abood and I’m currently expecting another child.

Before the war, I had a beautiful life and a warm home. After graduating and starting work, I had just bought our house, but it was destroyed by the bombings before we could even finish paying for it.

After becoming a mother, I began working as a food blogger: I loved photographing recipes and sharing them on Instagram, dreaming of becoming a famous chef one day.

Unfortunately, my life and dreams were wiped away by the war, which ended the beautiful life I once had.

I lost my home, my job, and mourned the loss of many friends. I was displaced more than seven times to escape death, and ended up homeless in a tent that offers no protection from either cold or heat.

The tents are extremely dangerous: they provide no shelter from the heat, the cold, the rain, or other hazards.

I am pregnant, and the medical situation here is disastrous. Public hospitals are not safe as they are targeted by airstrikes, and the few private doctors that remain charge unaffordable fees.

I have been diagnosed with chronic headaches, anemia, and malnutrition — all very serious conditions during pregnancy.

Losing my previous GoFundMe campaign was a heavy blow — it was the only means of support for my family.

When another area of Gaza was evacuated, my mother, father, sisters, and brother came to live with us in the already very small tent.

There are now 9 of us, and my GoFundMe is the only resource we have.

For over three months, the entry of food, water, and essential humanitarian aid into Gaza has been blocked.

There is almost nothing left in the markets.

Basic necessities — flour, rice, canned food, and clean water — are nearly impossible to find, and the few items that are available are sold at unimaginable prices. A single sack of flour now costs more than $1,000. A single bottle of water is beyond what any family can afford.

Every time I think we’ve reached the hardest days, even harder ones arrive. This is life under war.

I need your help during this extremely difficult time to buy the most basic essentials needed for survival.

The funds I receive are used for:

• feeding 9 people one meal a day

• water

• firewood

• medicine and medical check-ups

• electricity to charge our phones
