Dear Friends & Family,

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, Joyce Asiimwe Kananga, who passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, at the age of 46.

Born and raised in Uganda, Joyce came to Canada seeking safety, opportunity, and a brighter future.

Throughout her life, she devoted herself to serving others, helping vulnerable individuals and families find housing, employment, dignity, and hope. Her kindness, compassion, faith, and unwavering commitment to those in need touched countless lives.

Joyce is deeply missed by her children, parents, husband, extended family, friends, and church family.

Honoring Joyce's Legacy

In lieu of flowers, Joyce requested that those wishing to honor her memory support the Joyce Asiimwe Kananga Memorial Fund.

Established in her memory, the fund will continue Joyce's vision of helping vulnerable individuals and families secure safe housing, meaningful employment, and opportunities for self-reliance.

The fund will support the ongoing work of CSU RAPID REHOUSING & EMPLOYMENT SERVICES, a Calgary-based nonprofit initiative that Joyce helped build and championed.

Every contribution, regardless of size, will help extend Joyce's legacy of compassion and service by assisting those who are struggling to rebuild their lives.
