Dear Friends & Family,
Joyce Asiimwe Kananga Memorial Fund
Thank you for honoring the life and legacy of Joyce Asiimwe Kananga, who passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, at the age of 46.
Born and raised in Uganda, Joyce immigrated to Canada seeking safety, opportunity, and a brighter future. Working long hours and raising funds to assist those in need, Joyce believed that every person deserved dignity, compassion, and the opportunity to succeed.
Honoring Joyce's Legacy
The Joyce Asiimwe Kananga Memorial Fund has been established to continue the work that Joyce cared about so deeply. She worked long hours and raised funds to support those in need.
The hallmarks of Joyce’s service were providing safe housing and pathways to self-reliance to vulnerable individuals and families in Calgary, Alberta. Donations will support the ongoing charitable work of CSU RAPID REHOUSING & EMPLOYMENT SERVICES, a Canadian nonprofit that Joyce helped build.
All memorial fund donations will be administered through CSU RAPID REHOUSING & EMPLOYMENT SERVICES and used exclusively to advance its charitable purposes, including housing assistance, employment support, and self-reliance programs for our housed residents.
The 2026–2027 fundraising goal is $79,000, which will help support:
1. Temporary safe housing assistance for individuals and families experiencing housing insecurity.
2. Employment readiness, job training, and job placement services.
3. Essential household and refugee resettlement assistance for individuals transitioning into stable housing.
3. Program operations and volunteer coordination that enable these charitable services to continue.
Every gift, regardless of its size, will help carry forward Joyce's legacy by extending hope, stability, and opportunity to those rebuilding their lives.
Joyce lived by the Savior's words:
"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
— Matthew 25:40
Thank you for helping us honor Joyce's life, faith, and legacy. Your generosity will ensure that her compassion continues to bless others for years to come.
Please consider making a donation and sharing this page with your family, friends, and community.
