Help Build A Brighter Future For Over 70 Children in Nepal
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Zahabiya, a solo traveler from California. Over the last two months, I've been volunteering with a locally run organization in Nepal called Our Child Protection Foundation Nepal (OCPFN), which is a home for over 70+ children.
What began as a simple role teaching yoga and art quickly grew into something deeper. I saw how dedicated the founder, Binita, is - she’s given her life to ensuring these children have a safe, loving environment to grow up in. But I also saw how difficult it is for OCPFN to meet the children’s basic needs due to limited resources.
When I learned that many children weren’t able to attend school because they lacked uniforms, backpacks, and textbooks, I knew I had to help. With support from friends and family, we raised enough to get the children what they needed — and soon, they were back in class. But those needs didn’t stop there.
The children at OCPFN need consistent support for:
- School uniforms, textbooks, and supplies
- Nutritious meals
- Medical care and hygiene essentials
- Rent and upkeep of their shared home
While OCPFN provides care today, the long-term vision is even more powerful: to help these children thrive in supportive communities — not just institutions. With time and resources, the goal is to explore community-based care and locally led solutions that prioritize each child's future and well-being.
This fundraiser is a step toward bridging that gap — helping OCPFN meet immediate needs while laying the groundwork for more sustainable, child-centered care.
I've been deeply moved by the children’s strength, creativity, and sense of community. They paint murals, dance to TikTok songs, and look out for one another in the most touching ways. I believe in their futures — and in the power of collective care to support them.
Here's how you can help:
Your donation, no matter the amount, helps provide basic necessities and supports the long-term vision of care beyond institutional walls.
If you're connected to nonprofits or community development work and have insights on building sustainable, ethical, and long-term partnerships, I'd love to learn from you.
Thank you for reading & helping us imagine a bright future for these kids.
With love and hope,
Zahabiya
