Urgent Need: Shelter for Linda's Family

TDLR: Raising funds to pay for temporary housing for a pregnant woman and her six young kids, all of whom are about to experience homelessness in Michigan.

Hi! My name is Alex, and I am a law student at The University of Michigan. Last semester, I had the opportunity to meet a woman named Linda and her family. Linda is a pregnant mother with six kids (ages 3, 5, 8, 13, 14, and 16).

Linda, her partner, and her kids will be without a home on January 11th. Because of high demand and freezing temperatures in Michigan, the shelters are full and have a 4-6 month wait time. Unfortunately, even shelter programs for emergency situations/warming centers are full.

We plan to call daily to these shelters to see if there is availability, but until there are spots, Linda and her kids need a warm place to stay. We are raising funds to pay for a motel for as long as possible until space opens up elsewhere. Any amount you are able to contribute would be extremely helpful and will go directly to paying for housing for Linda and her family.
