Help Me Stay Mobile & Find an Accessible Home — Urgent
Five years ago, I was diagnosed with MOGAD. It changed my life overnight—but I adapted.
Now, I’m facing a new and rapid decline.
In just a few weeks, I’ve gone from walking independently… to a cane… to a rollator… and now I can barely walk safely at all. My legs are strange, feel like jello, unpredictable, and sometimes simply don’t respond. I’m being referred to a wheelchair clinic—but I urgently need a power wheelchair to function day-to-day.
At the same time, our home is no longer safe for me.
We live in a second-floor apartment with stairs and no accessibility. Some days, I’m nearly housebound. I cannot safely get in or out, and I cannot manage a wheelchair here at all.
We’ve spent weeks calling agencies, housing programs, and advocates—only to be told we don’t qualify for help.
But we’ve found something rare:
An accessible apartment with an elevator, available right now.
To secure it, we need to move fast.
We are raising $10,000 to cover:
* First month, last month, and security deposit
* Moving and packing assistance
* Essential accessibility needs and furnishings
This is more than a move—it’s the difference between being trapped and being able to live, function, and care for my family.
If you’re able to help in any way—donating or sharing—thank you. Truly.
