My name is Ala Park. I am a Moldovan artist living in the United States.
I am currently facing homelessness and an urgent legal situation, with court hearings scheduled for May 5–6, where I may face incarceration in proceedings based on what I believe are false accusations.
I am a survivor of domestic violence, including sexual assault, and a cancer survivor. After leaving the abusive situation, I qualified for emergency housing assistance (Section 8 voucher), but this support was never provided, and I was denied a written decision, blocking my right to appeal.
Without that protection, I lost my housing and became homeless.
At the same time, I am involved in legal proceedings where I have been denied access to records and the ability to fully defend myself. These developments followed a series of institutional failures that left me without protection or support.
During my eviction, I lost personal belongings, including important documents and part of my artwork, making it even harder to recover and defend myself.
Before this, I built a life through my work as an artist, with exhibitions and recognition, and I also worked with the Plaza Program at the Denver Public Library, helping immigrants integrate and pursue citizenship.
Today, I am without stable housing or income, trying to prepare for a legal process that may determine my future.
I am asking for support to secure basic stability, legal assistance, and the ability to rebuild my life. Any help or sharing of this campaign truly matters.
