Hey everyone, my name is Woofie.
I really hate having to make this, but I'm at a point where I honestly don't know what else to do. I've never been good at asking for help. I'm usually the person who tries to figure everything out on my own, but right now, I really just can't.
I have until November 29th to find a new place to live. My current roommate has decided to move and go their own way, and while I love our apartment, there's just no way I can afford it on my own.
If it were just me, I think I could handle things a little differently. But I'm a parent. I have two little someones depending on me, and the thought of not being able to provide a safe place for us to live is absolutely eating me alive.
I've been homeless before. I've been in that position of not knowing where I'm going to sleep or what I'm going to do next, and I promised myself I'd never end up there again. Now that possibility is becoming real real, and I'm anxious and scared. I don't want to end up sleeping in my car, wondering how I'm going to get back on my feet again.
I work over 40 hours a week. I've been trying to get my loans paid down and get myself into a better financial position, but I swear, every time I start to get somewhere, something else happens. Whether it's another unexpected bill, my car deciding it wants to fall apart, groceries getting more expensive, or just life lifing. It's like taking one step forward and getting knocked back two by a boxer.
I've found a few places that I could actually afford, but I've already missed out on them because I didn't have the money for the deposit. That's probably one of the most frustrating parts of all of this. Knowing there's somewhere I could go, somewhere I could make work, but not having enough money upfront to actually get through the door.
Between trying to keep up with everything, I haven't been able to put anything aside for a deposit, first month's rent, or even the basic things I'll need when I move. Even most of our kitchen stuff belongs to my roommate, so I'll be starting over with a lot of that, too.
I know everyone has their own struggles, and I know money is tight for a lot of people. If you can't help financially, I completely understand. Even sharing this or pointing me toward somewhere that might be able to help would mean so much.
I'm embarrassed to even be writing this. I've typed it out, and deleted it more times than I can count. But the reality is, I'm scared, I'm running out of time, and I need help.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. It really does mean a lot.
