We are reaching out to our community and kind-hearted supporters around the world with an urgent need: to carpet our mosque in Freetown, Sierra Leone before the blessed month of Ramadan begins.
Our Urgent Need
Our mosque serves as a spiritual home for hundreds of worshippers who gather daily for prayers, Friday Jummah services, and community gatherings. Currently, many areas of our mosque have no carpeting at all, leaving worshippers to pray on bare, hard floors. Other sections have carpeting that is severely worn and damaged, making it increasingly difficult for our congregation to pray comfortably and maintain the cleanliness our sacred space deserves.
Why This Is Urgent
Ramadan is approaching, and this is when our mosque sees the highest attendance of the year. Families come together for Taraweeh prayers, iftar gatherings, and nightly worship. We want to ensure that every member of our community young and old can pray in comfort and dignity during this most blessed month.
The Current Situation
∙ Large sections of the prayer hall have no carpet at all
∙ Worshippers must pray on bare concrete floors
∙ Existing carpet in other areas is worn beyond repair
∙ The situation is especially difficult for elderly congregants and children
