Urgent Help to Support My Mother and Uncle

Dear family and friends,

Only a week ago, I wouldn't have imagined I would be writing this. I’m reaching out with a heavy heart as my family in Cerri and Bahía Blanca is facing unimaginable hardship. The devastating floods last week have taken everything from them—their home, their belongings, their vehicles, and any sense of stability. My uncle, who is 70 years old, has lost his shop completely. Everything he worked for his entire life is gone (it was built by my great-grandparents who came from Italy). He didn’t have insurance, and now, at this stage in his life, he is being forced to start over from nothing. I can’t even put into words how heartbreaking this is.

As if that weren’t enough, my 80-year-old mum had a catastrophic fall. She woke up with the storm and fell, breaking her pelvis, and her BiPAP stopped working, leaving her struggling to breathe. She is now in the hospital, fighting for her life.

And on top of everything, my sister has also been through a crisis of her own. Earlier this year, wildfires surrounded her home in Bolsón, forcing her to stop working. Now, despite everything she’s already endured, she is the one looking after my mum in the hospital while also trying to salvage what she can from the house—cleaning, sorting, and throwing away everything the floods destroyed. She is exhausted, and I can only imagine how overwhelming it must be for her.

My entire family back home has nothing left—no home, no income, no resources to rebuild. If you can help in any way, even in the smallest amount, it would mean the world to us.
