My name is Amber, and I am raising money for my brother and his children. I live in NY, but he lives in Illinois, where we grew up together.

He was a father of two boys until recently having twins with a new partner. This new partner began having arguments that escalated to domestic abuse and police involvement.

So my brother has the twin babies and is at a hotel in town to be near his older children and to keep him and the twins safely away from the mother. He is there with no one able to take him in who is in the area (DeKalb, Illinois).

He is fighting to get custody of the babies and looking to find somewhere to live.

This will involve the costs of a down payment and 1st month's rent, Uber rides and U-Haul rental, the hotel he is currently in, and the ongoing changes of diapers and formula, of course.

He has run out of family near him who are opening their doors, so as big sister, it is something I must do—to help my little brother. Even in adulthood, sometimes we all need the help of some stability while we work on getting the rest of life in order.

I am asking for some help in order to get him into some living quarters ASAP for the good of these two new 3-month-old boys. Winter is here, and we need to find him somewhere he can afford as soon as possible.
