Urgent help required to complete my sons naturalization

I am writing to you today with a heartfelt plea for financial assistance. My son and I are currently in the process of acquiring his Thai nationality, a journey that has unfortunately been impacted by unforeseen financial difficulties. We urgently need your support to overcome these challenges and secure his future as a Thai citizen.
Our Story
My single parent life began with the death of my wife in 2018, she had been severely ill for 2 years but it was still a shock if not a surprise. I had been looking after both my wife and son since his birth but he was getting older now and requiring more attention, he was also in a state of some shock and bewilderment which I took care to address and soothe. Our bond had always been strong but this tragic event made us more a unit.
Six months later in April 2019 we were travelling to Thailand taking Thimaphons ashes back home. This was the first time Des had been to Thailand and he absolutely loved it. The family adored him and I knew then that our future was in Thailand.
However, inevitably we had to fly home but I vowed to be back.
I don't have any family in the UK and that means Des also has no family either. However, in Thailand he has lots of family, he has a heritage he is yet to learn of. A grandfather, many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, he is even an uncle himself! I want him to know his Thai family, grow up knowing them, having shared memories from childhood. This would give him the family he has not yet integrated with. His true family and he would feel a true part of it.
In 2025 I set about selling possessions to fund our migration to Thailand, electronics, DJ equipment, records and tools.
This selling process didn't go as quickly as I would have liked and we ate into savings trying to make savings. And then out of the blue there was a run on all the remaining items I had for sale. With things prior to this good fortune making me wonder if we were ever going to make it, I took the bold decision to cut the losses and leave immediately before we possibly lost more.
When we last here in Thailand bringing Thimaphons ashes I left her Thai and UK passports and Thai ID with a family member. These documents so pertinent and obvious undeniable proof of my sons legitimacy to Thai nationality have been mislaid or lost. To compound matters copies of some of these documents were delayed in the post. Now we have no time to apply before we are required to leave Thailand due to our limited extended visas. I'm also required to have 4 knowledgeable witnesses to attest to the fact that Thimaphon indeed resided at the family home and this needs to be verified at the local district office in Udon Thani. This of course needs to arranged at the family village and I am trusting my cousin to do this to save a big expense attempting the management of that myself. Then those supporting documents of the aforementioned attested knowledgable witnesses have to support the application.
We came to Samui as I had a job offer as manager of a resort. However a vengeful ex-employee made my tenure impossible and I found myself without a job. Work here is hard to find as you are required to have a work visa, usually issued by the employer. I have looked fro work and had to wait for documents which has inevitably eaten into our savings. What I had envisioned to be a straightforward affair tuned to the unbelievable state of us having been here nearly 3 months now and having to leave to return again for another tourist 60 day visa. Then we can apply in Udon Thani, my wifes birth place and home in plenty of time and I can get an O type visa as Desmond is my dependant and he will be a dual UK / Thai citizen.
The Importance of Thai Nationality
Thai nationality will provide my son with:
Access to Education: Full access to the Thai education system, including higher education opportunities.
Healthcare Benefits: Access to affordable healthcare services.
Legal Rights and Protections: The same rights and protections as any other Thai citizen.
A Sense of Belonging: A deeper sense of belonging and connection to the country he calls home.
Specific Financial Needs
We are seeking assistance to cover the following essential expenses:
COST BREAKDOWN
Additional Visa Costs: [£350] - Due to the delays caused by our financial situation, we have faced additional visa extension fees and I will be required to obtain an O type visa.
Living Expenses: [£500] - To cover basic necessities such as food and accommodation while we go to Laos before finalizing the nationality process
Travel Expenses: [£800] - To cover the costs of travel and travelling to government offices and completing the required paperwork.
The total amount we urgently need is [£1,650].
Our Commitment
We are committed to completing the Thai nationality acquisition process as quickly and efficiently as possible. We are actively seeking solutions to improve our financial situation, I'm busy looking for work but it has to be online (which is fraught with scams) as I look after Des. A 'legal' job here requires a work visa provided by the employer and those type of jobs are extremely hard to find. I am making applications to platforms which promote schools looking for English teachers and I have got my TEFL certificate, ideally Des could then attend the same school I teach at and if successful we will need to relocate. Where we live is too noisy to teach English online due to continual background sound but I have put my profile up on Preply. We are prepared to provide any necessary documentation or information to support our application.
A Heartfelt Plea
We understand that you receive many requests for assistance, and we are incredibly grateful for your time and consideration. Any contribution you can make, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in our lives and help us secure a brighter future for my son.
Thank You
Thank you for considering our appeal. We are eternally grateful for your kindness, generosity, and support.
Sincerely,
Jon and Des
