A dear friend of ours who wishes to remain anonymous is trying to relocate and re-stabilize her life. She is an autistic, disabled woman who struggles with complex PTSD, a dear friend, and has been a long time community organizer across multiple states for over 15 years. She is completely estranged from her family and and has been struggling with sui ideation where she is currently living for some time. She has lived in poverty most of her life, but she has also showed up in many ways for people and will continue to do so despite her setbacks. She has been planning on moving for some time, but needs to expedite the process as her current state of mental health and experienced trauma over the years where she is currently living has made speeding up her move more urgent. She makes only enough money to get by at her current job and cannot afford to make the move on what little she has at the moment. She struggles with shame around needing these things and asking for this help took a great deal of convincing in order for her to agree to seek it. We are hoping to raise enough money to cover the costs of a moving van, apartment and living expenses, extensive outpatient therapy, as she is currently without insurance, and to provide enough of a small nest for her to focus on her recovery.
