Dear friends, kind strangers, and anyone willing to listen,

Today, I’m writing with a plea for help — not for myself, but for my daughter and grandchildren (ages 11, 7, 4) that are desperately trying to avoid being homeless. This is one of the hardest things to ask, but the situation has reached a point where we can no longer do it alone.

My family has been fighting every single day just to survive. They never imagined they’d be on the edge of homelessness, but life has a way of knocking you down when you least expect it.

Life has not been easy for this young family. They have seen and suffered much trauma and abuse causing many emotional problems for the children not allowing the mother to work as much as needed.

Now, they need a safe home. The time has run out for them. There is no financial support from the father. They are in Florida and the hurricanes in the area have created little to no help left from the agencies, organizations and churches who once could provide assistance.

This family is not looking for a handout — just a hand to hold as they try to stand again. My daughter is actively seeking work, started a side job, applied for HUD (years wait list), and doing everything in her power to make things right. But they need help bridging the gap as they approach this last chance.

The funds raised will be used to:

Secure future housing that meets code and they can become healthy again

Remove eviction from record

Keep utilities on (electricity, water)

Provide groceries and essentials for the kids

Replace damaged furniture from last home that didn't meet code through hurricanes

No amount is too small. Even $5 makes a difference. If you’re not able to give, sharing this with your friends and community can help just as much. The more people who see this, the closer we are to giving this family the safety, dignity, and peace of mind they deserve.
