Urgent Help Needed for Stacy's New Start

Friends….I am usually not one to ask for help. This is difficult for me. However, as many of you know my niece, Heaven, and her mom, Stacy, were involved in a tragic car accident in a June which led to Stacy being paralyzed from the chest down. She has spent the last 7 months in hospitals and rehabilitation centers and ultimately in a nursing home 3 hours away from everyone she knows. She does not have a lot of supports in her life. I have always told myself if I’m in a position to help someone, I do it. I moved her into my home Friday as her mental health being all alone in the nursing home has taken its toll on her. I planned to let her stay with us until we found her an apartment that would suit her. I found one quicker than I thought. She has no money right now as the facilities have been taking her disability since this accident happened. I’m not in a position to come up with all the money she needs to move in and get her items she needs. And I don’t want to miss the opportunity for this apartment because they don’t come available very often.

So I’m swallowing my pride and reaching out for help. She needs $1200 to move into this apartment. Plus she needs all household items. She has nothing. I’m asking you to dig into your hearts and possibly pockets to help me come up with the money and household items this week so we can secure this apartment to fit her needs.

Also I have checked into local places to help. I was able to get $300 from the family resource center but haven’t found any other programs. Any help would be so appreciated.
