Hi my name is Catherine,
The children of the Amazonian jungle are facing an unimaginable struggle. Their academic year began in March, but for many, the floods caused by the relentless rainy season have turned their homes into submerged islands. The devastation has wiped out their crops—rice, plantain, yuca—staples of their culture and survival. These families are now without food, and the children are fighting not only for their education but for their very survival. The total population of Shipibo people is thought to be only 30,000 remaining and many of those are moving to the cities in search work, abandoning their traditional way of life.
Many of these children want to return to school, but the floods have delayed their education indefinitely. Schools won’t open again until May, when the rains finally stop and the waters recede. Until then, they are living in floodwaters, struggling with limited resources, and facing an uncertain future. These children, full of hope and potential, now face a heartbreaking reality where their homes, education, and survival are at risk.
We are urgently raising funds to provide support for at least 1,000 people, including children and families from the Ucayali River region, such as Limongema, Barranca, and San Juan, etc.
This initiative is being driven by the shaman *Wiler Noriega Rodriguez* and his center, *Ayahuasca Spirit Center*, who are dedicated to helping these communities in their time of greatest need. Wiler and his team are working tirelessly to provide immediate relief and hope to the people in the most affected areas.
Your donation will help supply essential resources, including:
*Food*: Rice, flour, sugar, pasta, grains, oil, potatoes and more.
*Shelter*: Supplies to rebuild homes and provide temporary shelter.
*Education*: School supplies and materials to help children return to school when the waters recede.
*Clean Water*: To prevent waterborne diseases in this vulnerable time.
*Preserve a traditional way of life* which is constantly threatened by habitat destruction.
These families need our support to survive this crisis and restore their hopes for a better future. With your generosity, we can help them rebuild, educate, and survive. Every dollar counts, and together, we can make a tremendous difference.
How You Can Help:
*Donate*: Every donation, no matter how small, will help provide food, clean water, shelter, and school supplies to those in need.
