Urgent Help Needed: Family Displacement Crisis

These past couple of years my family has been through many difficult situations. This last year I can honestly say that it has been the worst ever and even worse than all of my cancer battles. My family along with 3 others have been displaced from the home we have lived at for over 20 years. This all due to issues far beyond our control with the Village of Port Chester Building, Code Enforcement and Zoning Board. My husband and I have had to endure ALL of this all while battling MAJOR medical issues and chronic illnesses. Financially it hasn’t been easy. I was unable to return to my amazing job of more than 10 years due to complications after having major surgery. This has caused a financial burden and of course issues with our credit. This week will be the very hardest for us as a family as we have to move out by Wednesday April 30. We had previously not had any success in finding a place to move to. Within the last two days, we were blessed with a couple of apartments. Now we’ve come into an ever BIGGER issue. We were just made aware that the funds we applied for through my husbands Coast Guard Mutual Aid program for our moving expenses (which include our security deposit, months rent and rentals for storage) are still pending. We are a family that is very private, respectful and humbled when it comes to our personal lives. Due to our current situation, I’m reaching out to our family, friends and this amazing community for not only prayers, but for any type of assistance. To say that I am very embarrassed to have to sort to this platform is an understatement. I am leaving things in the lords hands to guide us just as he’s done throughout this journey. I will forever be grateful to those who have not only been there for us since the beginning of this situation, but to those who have also helped us.
