My niece packed up her 5 boys and 3 dogs to move to Tucson so that she could be near her father in the last weeks of his life. He was recently diagnosed with a rare type of cancer and told he has weeks to 2 months to live. Maria takes him to his blood transfusions 3 times a week. She has the boys go visit him as often as she can.

Unfortunately, he can’t come to her home to visit them because the house she just moved into is not safe for him. She found mold in the wall of the laundry room. The property management company she rents from has already taken since July just to get bids on the work. In the meantime, there is a plastic tube going through 3 rooms of their home. It’s called the mild containment system but it does nothing for the smell. It’s piped to a window on the other side of the kitchen. It literally lays across the built-in kitchen table and bench seat. The air conditioner is running 24/7. The water leak in the wall is still there because there isn’t an approved bid for the water heater that caused the mold. She has missed multiple days of work to be home for workers. At this point, her electricity bill is over $500. The property manager has agreed to let her end the lease if she moves out by October 1. They were unable to give her a timeline for when the work could be done. They only gave her 1 week!!!

Please help Maria relocate to a clean and healthy home where the boys and her can stay together and her terminally ill father can visit while he’s strong enough.
