My name is Margaret Teporelli. We recently received a notice to vacate within 30 days, after paying our rent on time for 9 years, because the landlord sold the building without notice. I am 72 years old and
my husband is 75 years old, we are on a fixed income, and we are not in the best health.
My daughter and grandchildren have recently moved in with us from Alabama, escaping hard times. The grandchildren are 2 and 4 years old.We were not prepared for this and are trying to get money together to find a place to live, as we are trying to keep the family together. It cost so much to move in,with first, last and security deposit. Anything at this point will help. I just do not know what to do other then this.I have had a lot of hardships in my life but this is as heartbreaking as the day I buried my son. I want to keep us together and don’t know any other way. My husband and I are very proud people, and this was very difficult for us to do, but we have exhausted all other options. We have never asked for handouts, but the thought of not being able to with my grandchildren is very hard to take and I am finding it hard to deal with. My daughter recently started a job and is struggling just to support herself and the children at the moment. We have to do something to protect these babies. This is very hard for me to do but the clock is ticking. We will be able to do it if we can raise enough to get into a place. Thank you faithfully for any help and assistance you may be able to provide, we greatly, greatly appreciate it.
