Help Laurie battle Brain & Lung Cancer

On Friday September 19, 2025 my mom was admitted into the hospital with a severe headache and nausea. Upon completion of multiple scans it was determined that she has stage 4 lung cancer that has metastasized to her brain.

Monday September 22, 2025 my mom had a bronchoscopy biopsy performed. We won’t have the results back from that test to determine the exact type of cancer for a few more days, and we cant start treatment for the lung cancer until we get those results back to know what the next steps will be to treat the lung cancer.

However,

My mom has multiple masses on her brain and that is the biggest concern at this time. There is a large mass at the center of her brain, in the cerebellum that is putting pressure on her brain stem. She is starting radiation this week on this mass because if we don’t start treatment on this mass in particular my mom won’t survive two weeks.

I don’t like to ask for help. I honestly don’t even know how to ask. But unfortunately, with this news my mom isn’t able to work, and since I will be taking her for her treatments and to the hospital frequently over the next few weeks I also will not be able to work. I also needed to get my brothers up to Jersey to

visit her from Florida and will have to get them back there.

I understand that times are hard and I would never ask for help unless we truly needed it. If you can help it is truly appreciated, but if you can’t that is completely understandable.

I will do my best to keep everyone updated and once we know what kind of cancer this is I will have more information.
