Friends, one of our own favorite voices, wits and all around dear humans, Joe Ardizzone has been going through an incredibly difficult year, and he needs our support.

Earlier this year, Joe’s work hours were cut in half, and shortly after, his landlord announced the building was being sold. Despite months of searching, every affordable apartment turned out to be a scam or unlivable. With limited income and no way to save for moving costs, Joe was forced to give up nearly all of his belongings and leave his home of 18 years.

Thanks to a few friends, he’s not on the street—but he is effectively homeless and urgently needs stable housing. Health challenges and limited mobility have made this even harder, and he’s struggling to find work that fits his current abilities.

What Joe Needs

Joe is looking for:

    •    A safe, affordable apartment in NYC that accommodates his mobility needs

    •    Steady remote work within his abilities (most recently he’s been working as a bookkeeper in accounts payable/payroll)

    •    Financial help to cover immediate essentials—application fees, a security deposit, health insurance, basic furniture, and other necessities that come with starting over
