Help Iman and Her Family Survive the Crisis in Gaza

My dear friend Iman is a devoted wife and mother of five children who is and has been living in Gaza her entire life. Since the war began, that life has been upended again and again.  She’s been forced to relocate multiple times, constantly facing danger and deprivation. Through it all though, Iman has shown extraordinary resilience, always trying to make do with what little she has for her family.

But now, her family’s situation has become truly dire.

Since the recent ceasefire ended and the flow of food and humanitarian aid was completely cut off, Iman and her family have been pushed to the very brink. Their daily reality is no longer about stability or safety — it is simply about survival.  What food they can scrape together, the children eat, as Iman goes without.  This has been the reality for the past six weeks.

Tragically, one of her children was recently injured during an airstrike. With limited access to medical care, his wound is slow to heal and continues to worsen. And as of the writing of this campaign, another airstrike hit a neighbor’s building, causing shrapnel to hit Iman and her husband.  Fortunately, the children were ok, but with no real access to care, these wounds will only get worse. There is little food, no safe shelter, and no reliable access to medicine. Hunger is constant. As Iman told me in desperation, “If hunger were a man, I’d kill him.”

I am starting this GoFundMe to help Iman and her family meet their most basic needs of food, clean water, and medical treatment, all that have been made scarce due to the blockade, causing what little that is available to be very expensive.  They need hope, and any assistance that can be made will give Iman and her family a chance at survival and hope.
